Welcome from the Artistic Director

Classical music — old and new — unerringly captures our imaginations. We cannot help but be enlivened, challenged, disturbed, comforted, transfixed, transformed … and thus profoundly enriched. These are captivating musical expressions, ideas and emotions, and each composer's offering contains an unending wealth of riches for the imagination and the heart!

I am thrilled to begin my eighth year as Artistic Director & Conductor of the Handel Choir this season. What a pleasure it has been for me to be a part of this organization's growth and to work with our outstanding singers, instrumentalists, board members and staff; all this, while enjoying colleagues in other Baltimore fine arts and education organizations! This is such a wonderfully supportive community, I believe, because we all know the positive impact of the arts is indisputable.

We perform to share with you the marvelous discovery of this life-affirming phenomenon called music. If you have heard one of our recent concerts, come back. If you haven't heard us lately, join us.
